5/10/2013 - Leavitt Central Coast Insurance Services Welcomes Mike Hungrecker

4/12/2013 - Leavitt Pacific Insurance Brokers Welcomes Susan Groff
Leavitt Pacific Insurance Brokers is pleased to announce the hiring of Susan Groff.  Susan has over 16 years of experience helping clients with their property and casualty insurance and workers compensation needs.  She has worked with many types of contractors including painting and decorating contractors and their association, the Painting and Decorating Contractors Association (PDCA).

4/4/2013 - Leavitt Group Welcomes Debbie Landrum
Barlocker Insurance Services is pleased to announce the hiring of Debbie Landrum. Landrum has been helping clients with property and casualty insurance and workers compensation needs for over 27 years and will focus on insurance programs for bowling centers, skating rinks, and painting contractors.

4/3/2013 - The Leavitt Group Bonds the Demolition of the Sea Shadow

The Leavitt Group’s Concord office is pleased to have bonded Bay Ship & Yacht Co. on the demolition of the Sea Shadow, an experimental stealth ship built by Lockheed Martin for the United States Navy in the mid-1980s.  

“It was incredible to help on this project,” said John Daley, vice president of surety for the Leavitt Group’s Concord office. “The Sea Shadow is such an interesting part of our nation’s history.”

The purpose of this super-secret ship was to develop the SWATH hull form, Automated Control Systems, Thermal, Sonic, and Radar reflective technologies.  The Navy sold the Sea Shadow and its dry dock to Bay Ship & Yacht in 2012 with the requirement that the buyer dismantle and scrap the vessel.
4/2/2013 - Leavitt Group Welcomes Tammy Mission


The Leavitt Group’s Concord office is pleased to announce the hiring of Tammy Mission.  Mission will focus on risk management for non-profit organizations, technology, and health care clients.  She graduated with a degree in economics from Saint Mary’s College of California and has earned the Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS) designation.

3/19/2013 - Leavitt Group Bonds the Bay Bridge Lights Project

The Leavitt Group’s Concord office is pleased to have contributed to the world’s largest LED light sculpture, the Bay Bridge Lights Project, by bonding the electrical contractor Bleyco, Inc. on the project. 

“We were thrilled to be part of such an amazing project,” said John Daley, vice president of surety for the Leavitt Group’s Concord office. “The sculpture is a beautiful display that will bring enjoyment to visitors and our community over the next two years.”

Bay Area visitors will have the chance to see the display every night from dusk until 2 a.m.  Leo Villareal is the world-renowned artist who created the sculpture with the use of LEDs (light-emitting diodes) and computer-driven imagery.
3/18/2013 - Leavitt Group Welcomes Evans, Kelly, and Peckinpaugh

The Leavitt Group’s Los Angeles office is pleased to announce that Amy Evans, James Kelly, and Terri Peckinpaugh have joined the agency.

“In our pursuit of becoming Southern California’s premier experts in the middle market segment, I am thrilled to have these seasoned professions as part of our team to help us reach this goal,” said Mark Russ, managing co-owner of the Leavitt Group’s Los Angeles office.

Evans is a vice president in the employee benefits division with special focus on middle market clients in the Los Angeles area.   She has over ten years experience in the insurance industry working as a broker sales representative and district sales coordinator for Aflac.







Kelly is a vice president with special focus on middle market companies, including property management, manufacturing, distribution, and healthcare risks.  He has 20 years of experience in the insurance industry with extensive knowledge of property and casualty, life and health, and onshore and offshore captive formation risk management.







Terri Peckinpaugh is a vice president in the Leavitt Group’s professional liability practice group servicing attorney professional liability and other specialty insurance programs for law firms.  With over 38 years of experience in the insurance industry, Terri’s background includes property and casualty sales, standard insurance programs, lawyers professional liability, retrospective programs, insurance captives, surety, and claims handling.
2/14/2013 - Alyce Hillman Named “Industry Leader of the Year”


Alyce Hillman, co-owner of the Leavitt Group of Boise, was recently awarded “Industry Leader of the Year” by the Boise Insurance Professionals.  This is a prestigious award among insurance professionals in the Boise, Idaho, area with few who achieve the honor.

Hillman joined the Leavitt Group in 2003 as a personal lines customer service representative and was later promoted to a marketing position where she worked closely with insurance carrier partners, promoting the agency within the business community, and assisting producers in the development of prospects.

In 2008 Hillman became co-owner of the Leavitt Group of Boise and took on managing the agency as director of operations.  She has actively maintained a network of business and personal relationships in the industry and community, and supports local events such as Light My Fire, Boise Insurance Professionals, and the Big I Convention. 

Hillman has been a volunteer for several years at the Junior Big I Golf Classic and was instrumental in creating an executive leadership group that meets quarterly to discuss issues that impact women in the insurance industry. Hillman continually gives a tremendous amount of energy and effort to all who are involved in the insurance industry both locally and nationally. 
2/6/2013 - Shea Insurance Joins Leavitt Group Benefit Services

The Leavitt Group is pleased to announce that Scott Villamor and his agency, Shea Insurance, have joined their Las Vegas Benefits office.  By joining the Leavitt Group, the agency will now have access to the top insurance markets in the country as well as the resources of a national insurance brokerage.  Jeff Allen and Deb Egler have also joined the Leavitt Group.

Villamor and his company have successfully helped businesses with their employee benefit needs, such as employer legal compliance, human resources, payroll, and employee benefits.  Prior to owning his own business, Villamor worked for a national commercial broker. Villamor earned a degree in Finance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

1/16/2013 - Leavitt Group and Konecki Insurance Brokerage Combine Operations

The Leavitt Group is pleased to announce that Solana Beach-based insurance broker Konecki Insurance Brokerage has combined operations with the Leavitt Group’s San Diego office.

“Konecki Insurance Brokerage, at the direction of John and Carolyn Konecki and their staff, has had phenomenal results with consistent year after year growth of 20 percent plus in tough economic times,” said Tom James, president of the Leavitt Group’s San Diego office. “Our firms very much complement each other with a commitment to provide the highest quality insurance strategies and protection for our clients.” 

In the combined operations, John Konecki will serve as executive vice president in the commercial insurance division, and Carolyn Konecki will serve as a vice president in the personal insurance division.

Konecki Insurance Brokerage was formed by John Konecki in 1990 with Farmers Group of Companies. In 2003, Konecki formed an independent agency, Konecki Insurance Brokerage. In 2012, the agency relocated their offices from San Diego to Solana Beach.

12/28/2012 - Northern Montana Insurance Services Expand Operations
Northern Montana Insurance Services, a Leavitt Group affiliate, is pleased to announce they have expanded their operations with new offices in Helena and Butte. Jay LeProwse and Pam King have joined the agency and will work in the Butte office. Shawn Kraft and Dalena Baker have also joined the agency and will work in the Helena office. “We are very excited to add these quality people to our team and look forward to growing our footprint,” said Pat Greany, vice president of Northern Montana Insurance Services. “We now have seven offices to better serve our clients’ insurance needs.” LeProwse graduated from Montana Tech in Occupational Safety and Health and will work as a commercial insurance agent to provide loss control services. With over 35 years of experience in insurance, King will work as a commercial insurance customer service agent. She will assist clients with all lines of business insurance, including workers compensation. Kraft, an expert in commercial insurance, is the managing partner of the Helena office and was most recently branch manager for Western States Insurance. With 25 years of experience in insurance, Baker will work as a personal insurance executive and office manager. In the November issue of The Salinas Californian, the Salinas office of Barlocker Insurance Services was named a 2012 Readers’ Choice winner.  The award, which is determined by a reader poll, is listed by the newspaper as the Best Insurance Agency in Monterey County.

11/29/2012 - Leavitt Group Joins Marine Corps Family Foundation’s Operation Santa
The Leavitt Group’s Santa Ana office recently packed and sent over 80 stockings filled with the comforts of home to Marines currently deployed to Afghanistan.  This is the third year the office has participated in the Marine Corps Family Foundation’s Operation Santa.

“It is such a wonderful feeling of giving back to the brave men and women who put their life on the line for us every day,” said Terri Ray, Director of Operations of the Santa Ana office.  Ray is also the mother of a Marine currently deployed to Afghanistan.

The Leavitt Group, along with individual employees, contributed to the items packed in the stockings.  The stockings bring a little holiday cheer to those Marines who may be away from home for the first time, or who have spent many holidays away from family and friends.

The Leavitt Group’s Sacramento office is pleased to announce the hiring of Eric Shaw. Shaw will focus on risk management for health care clients and workers compensation coverage.  With ten years of experience in the insurance industry, Shaw most recently worked for Zurich Insurance in claims handling. He graduated with a degree in finance from Sacramento State.

11/9/2012 - Randy Jones & Associates Affiliate with Leavitt Group

The Leavitt Group is pleased to announce the affiliation of Randy Jones & Associates, which is the first Leavitt Group insurance agency in Alabama. Randy Jones & Associates will now offer their commercial clients expanded insurance capabilities, such as access to the top insurance markets in the country as well as the resources of a national insurance brokerage. The agency will continue to exclusively offer personal insurance through Nationwide.
